What you’ll be doing:

As a Commercial Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the negotiation, structuring, and management of supplier, partner, vendor, and occasionally customer contracts for our organization. Reporting to our Senior Corporate Counsel, your role involves working closely with various departments, including legal, finance, supply chain, product and other business departments, to ensure that contracts are favorable, compliant with legal and regulatory requirements, and align with the company's strategic goals.

Contract Negotiation and Management:

  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with suppliers, vendors, clients, and partners.
  • Draft and review contracts to ensure they meet company policies and customer requirements.
  • Manage the entire contract lifecycle, from initiation through to execution and closure, including renewals.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and company policies.
  • Identify potential risks associated with contract terms and conditions and recommend mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, procurement, legal, finance) to understand business needs and ensure contracts align with strategic goals.
  • Communicate contract-related information to all relevant parties, ensuring clarity and understanding of contractual obligations and rights.

Contract Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze contract terms to provide insights and recommendations for business decisions.
  • Prepare and present reports on contract status, compliance, and performance to management.
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations affecting contracts.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the contract management process.
  • Implement best practices in contract management to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Who you’ll work with:

  • Legal team members, including: Senior Director of Contracts, Senior Corporate Counsel, Legal Operations Specialist
  • Intermediate and C-level internal management.
  • Intermediate level external vendor and partner management.

What you bring to the table:

  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in law, business administration, or a related field. A master’s degree in law, business administration, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in contract administration, negotiation, and management. 3-5 years of experience in contract administration, negotiation, and management is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for identifying potential risks and discrepancies in contracts.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Ability to interpret and explain complex legal documents and concepts.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant software programs.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple contract negotiations and agreements simultaneously.
  • Knowledge: A thorough understanding of contract law, commercial terms, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical, business-oriented context. Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements is also important.

Travel may be required several times a year for up to a week at a time for team training and potentially Roper conferences. While we strive to maintain an excellent work life balance, additional hours may be required to meet strict deadlines or converse with teams in other time zones.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions.
